The term genre is used more times than we think it is. The only difference is that the word itself is disguised by our subliminal conscious. Such other words as category, groups, and denomination all can be used interchangeably in terms of their definition. In everyday life, humans use such words as race, socio-economic class, and sexuality to determine different categories (or genres if you will) of people living in our large society. Each form of writing genre requires a specific outlook and a specific approach. For instance, if an individual were to be writing an academic paper, there would be a high amount of both substance and statistics but low on jokes and satire. However, if one were to be writing a comedic paper, there would be less substance and statistics but high amounts of jokes and satire.Bottom line, approach a genre with the appropriate attitude.
