When it comes to documenting your sources, it is essential that you cite the sources you have used in the format in which your instructor/professor asks you to. There are numerous ways to document your sources. And even if you do not know how to document your sources in the form that your professor asks, at least document it somehow so that if you do run into plagiarism problems, the fact that you documented your sources somehow will prevent you from being kicked out of the institution that you are attending or preventing you from getting an F on an assignment.
